Abstract

The library is the heart of an institute, which disseminates the knowledge through improved methods of communication to meet the information thrust of its users by providing the required information in no time. The tremendous advancement in information and communication technology (ICT) means have brought a revolutionary change in the information scenario giving rise to some options to handle varied information sources conveniently and effortlessly. The result is that the e-resources/digital resources have become the most desired resources by the users in a contemporary library. The convergence of computers, telecommunication, multimedia, the internet, and network helped in the development of the digital library. The major findings of the study reveal that the majority of respondents 65.3% prefer to use print + digital resources whereas 26% of respondents prefer to use only print resources. The majority of the respondents agree that sufficient resources are available to cater to their information requirements. The findings show that 79.1% of respondents make use of digital resources to get the required study material; 60.8% of respondents preferred to access the resources from the library. 81.3% of respondents agree that more training programs be organized for the optimum utilization of the resources.
