Abstract
- The article examines how the formal structure of Henrik Ibsen's 1879 play "A Doll's House" was replicated by Samuel Adamson in his 2019 play "Wife" which premiered at the Kiln Theatre in London, England. Topics include methods of audience member engagement with a historical text modeled in Adamson's play and how Adamson's choice to adapt "A Doll's House" into four temporally distinct moments extends the considerations of the 1879 play to address the ongoing implications of the original themes.
