Abstract

In this paper, Cr7C3 coating is prepared on porous carbon paper by the disproportionation reaction of Cr2+ in NaCl–KCl molten salt at 800–900 °C for 40–80 min. Effects of the molar ratio of chromium powders, temperature, and reaction time are investigated. The composition and microstructure of the coating are characterized by X‐ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. Finally, the growth mechanism of Cr7C3 coating from the perspective of thermodynamics and kinetics is discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
