Abstract

The average force the new silks could take without stretching was 70 per cent higher than the average for spider silks ( B I Matter i b , doi.org/jf3k). Dissolving silkworm silk and remaking it in a bath of sugar and ions of zinc and iron has made it stronger than most spider silks, one of the strongest materials in nature.
