Abstract

The anisotropic properties of new structural materials significantly expand the capabilities of designers to create products with characteristic and sometimes unique properties. The anisotropic properties of all kinds of composite materials have been studied quite well. As a rule, such properties are created through the use of initial components with specified thermophysical characteristics and depend on the order of their alternation and orientation in the composition of a particular product. It can be considered that a similar approach can be used in the production of metal products using additive technologies. This work is devoted to an experimental study of the heat-conducting characteristics of SAE 316L stainless steel samples obtained by additive technology. The effect of increasing the thermal conductivity of samples made of SAE 316L stainless steel in the direction coinciding with the direction of sample growth was found. In this case, the thermal conductivity of the material obtained is higher than the thermal conductivity of the material obtained by the traditional method (casting) by 20÷45%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
