Prerequisites for the use of gas-fueled locomotives on railways of the island of Kalimantan.

Intensive economy development in the Republic of Indonesia provides for the creation of new infrastructure facilities, including the island of Kalimantan, which has significant minerals and a unique natural environment. For the railways planned for construction on the island, it is necessary to select a traction system that combines high efficiency with minimal environmental impact. A variant of locomotive traction using natural gas as a motor fuel is proposed.
