Abstract

To determine concentration of different antibiotics, a absorption device based on one-step transfer of graphene was designed and fabricated. The transmission spectrum of the resonant cavity is simulated and measured by using a terahertz time domain spectroscopy system, and the characteristic resonance frequency shift is observed. It is found that different concentrations of samples will lead to the blue shift of the resonant position of graphene-metamaterial absorber, and the degree of blue shift is directly proportional to the concentration of antibiotics. It provides evidence that the terahertz spectroscopy based on a metamaterial absorber may be used to develop a method for the determination of macrocyclic antibiotics. • Characterization of antibiotic concentration by one-step transfer graphene metamaterial absorber. • Graphene-metamaterial heterostructure is realized by transferring graphene to absorbing materials. • The degree of formant blue shift can be used to characterize the concentration of antibiotics.
