The hegemony of the PSOE and the UGT during the Transition in Andalusia had greater difficulties in the agricultural sphere, where the FTT encountered strong competition in both the day labourer and self-employed farmer areas. The province of Almería contributed significantly to the development and expansion of socialism in agriculture, both in Andalusia and in the country, but its provincial implantation had greater problems.
