Abstract

The article reports that mating is critical to the propagation of cetaceans and while much of this system is biologically hardwired or uses innate behavioral systems there is evidence that learned behaviors contribute significantly to a species' success. Topics include examines the mechanisms by which cetaceans select their mates or develop the critical behaviors needed for mating success remain unknown.
