Abstract

Macular OCT diagnoses were cystoid macular oedema in five patients, epiretinal membrane in three patients, and exudative age-related macular degeneration in one patient; while the OCT was normal in 21 patients. Although posterior segment optical coherence tomography (OCT) would be the preferred diagnostic tool for this purpose, significant corneal oedema can reduce the quality of OCT images possibly leading to a missed or erroneous diagnosis. Macular OCT and optic nerve head OCT with standard protocol for retinal nerve fibre layer (RNFL) were obtained using the Spectralis HRA-OCT (Heidelberg Engineering, Heidelberg, Germany).
