Abstract: Utilizing data from the National Election Study Cumulative File, this paper finds that while the 6 item NES scale is an adequate measure of egalitarianism, it is not the only one. Acceptably fitting structural equations models also exist specifically for equal rights and two domain specific types of egalitarianism, economic and racial. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
