Abstract

Intestinal ultrasound (IUS) using contrast-enhanced imaging (CEUS) is an increasingly used non-invasive tool to evaluate Crohn's disease (CD) activity in addition to clinical, biochemical and stool parameters. Methods: Retrospective study including CD patients submitted to CEUS, with SonoVue contrast, directed to the terminal ileum, performed by a single operator using an ultrasound Hitachi HI VISION Avius, between April 2016 and March 2022. We aimed to assess the usefulness of CEUS in predicting inflammatory activity in CD patients and determine the relationship between its parameters and clinical, biochemical and stool parameters.
