Abstract

Dear Editor, Pityriasis rubra pilaris (PRP) is a rare papulosquamous condition that is comorbid with depression in 15-20% of cases.[[1], [3]] A survey of 85 patients with PRP showed that PRP was associated with a worse quality of life (QoL) than other common dermatological conditions.[4] Despite this, there are scarce data on the burden of and characteristics associated with psychiatric symptoms and QoL in PRP. Overall, 87-6% of participants reported PRP-related depression symptoms, 21-4% PRP-related anxiety symptoms and 7-3% PRP-related suicidal ideation over the previous 2 weeks. Characterizing disease features and other medical diagnoses in patients with pityriasis rubra pilaris. [Extracted from the article]
