Abstract
- The paper presents an analysis of the mechanical dynamical response of the transmission overhead line with installed interphase spacers in demanding winter conditions in the presence of ice accretion and ice-shedding on conductors. While the electrical characteristics of the transmission line equipment are determined by the voltage level, the mechanical characteristics require a special analysis. The analysis is performed as a numerical experiment using the method of the absolute nodal coordinates on a typical example of the transmission line. The numerical results give an insight into the forms of the dynamic response of the transmission-line conductors and interphase spacers and determine the mechanical characteristics of the interphase spacers and thus an optimal dimensioning of the transmission line equipment.
