Abstract

Non-consecutive patients, undergoing tympanoplasty type I with tragal perichondrium graft were randomly selected for reimplantation of perichondrium peeled tragal cartilage at the time of surgery (Figure 1). The objectives of follow-up were to track tympanic membrane healing, detect recurrence of tympanic membrane perforation (regardless of its cause), and evaluate tragus wound healing for signs of cartilage infection or extrusion.
