Abstract
- The article presents a historical-cultural approach to improve the teaching-learning process of Financial Mathematics in higher education in Ecuador. The importance of developing thinking, reasoning, and social awareness in this subject is highlighted. Factors such as low academic performance and the didactic strategies used by teachers are identified as possible causes of the problem. The use of information and communication technologies, contextualized and adapted curriculum materials, and the promotion of communicative and social interaction between teachers and students are proposed. The objective is to train individuals capable of using financial tools to solve problems in their environment. [Extracted from the article]
