Abstract

Each bolus administered during invasive ICP monitoring contributed to the outcomes data, separated into normonatremic and hypernatremic cohorts based on serum sodium prior to bolus administration. Patients > 18 years were included if they had any type of intracranial hemorrhage or traumatic brain injury (TBI), invasive ICP monitoring (external ventricular drain or subdural bolt), and received > 1 HTS bolus during ICP monitoring. Bolus characteristics collected included time from bolus to ICP measurement, bolus concentration and volume, and percentage of boluses given when ICPs were less than 20 mmHg.
