Abstract
- The patient underwent an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy the following day and the fishbone was retrieved from a small diverticulum in the third part of the duodenum. A 76-year-old lady was referred to the Emergency Department by a reporting Radiologist after a foreign body microperforation of a duodenal diverticulum was incidentally found during an oncological staging scan. The patient's abdominal computed tomography (CT) was reviewed and demonstrated fat stranding and extraluminal gas locules in the retroperitoneum. [Extracted from the article]
