From the beginning of life, babies learn to perceive others' feelings as well as their own; affect attunement and mirroring et al. are central to building secure attachment. Emotional and social development are interconnected, emotional development is rooted in social discourse, at the same time emotional development is the basis for social development. On this basis of emotional development, it is shown how emotional competence can be developed in elementary school so that children learn to perceive feelings, understand them, express them, manage them and also control them.
