Abstract
- The article shares reflections about activities that offer opportunities for teachers to develop epistemic empathy. The base 7 and T-numeration activities are described which allow teachers to construct, communicate and critique knowledge about ideas related to number sense. It discusses the critique of knowledge experienced by teachers as a result of an investigation into an unfamiliar topic in mathematics and its implication for teacher education.
