Abstract

Work stress is a critical phenomenon in the development of human capital. Work stress that is managed regularly will be able to increase family well-being. Although this issue has been widely studied, the role of work stress as an important predictor variable for family well-being is often neglected in the literature of work stress management in organizations. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between work stress and family well-being. A survey method was used to collect 160 data from employees in a public agency, Malaysia. Findings using SmartPLS software produced three main findings. First, role ambiguity has a significant relationship with family well-being. Second, role conflict has a significant relationship with family well-being. Third, role burden has a significant relationship with family well-being. This situation shows that the ability of employees to handle work stress prudently will help them balance work and family matters in the organization studied.
