Abstract: The article presents a study which reported a giant and highly tunable terahertz (THz) emission from thin polycrystalline films of centrosymmetric Dirac semimetal platinum diselinide (PtSe2). Topics discussed include reason that strong polarization dependence indicates the breaking of centrosymmetry and a preferred direction, synthesis of PtSe2 films, and THz emission measurement.
