Abstract

The aim of this study was to assess the effect of the COVID-19 lockdown periods on the metabolic control of patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) in three academic diabetes centers in Greece. There was a slight improvement in BMI, blood pressure and lipid values while the remaining parameters remained stable. • Covid-19 was classified as a pandemic in a short period of time. • Governments from many countries implemented several times the measure of lockdown. • In a sample of patients with T2D in Greece, consecutive lockdowns did not deteriorate metabolic control. • There was also a slight improvement in BMI and lipid profile.
