Transportation is a prominent human activity that shapes space and is also affected by space. Transportation activities, which cover all kinds of spatial connections and mutual relations, are also an important part of the natural landscape as they leave visible impacts on the earth’s surface. Transportation, which shapes space, plays an active role in the formation of landscape similarities and differences. For this reason, transportation has been one of the areas of interest of geography. In this study, the density and capacity of transportation activities in Denizli are revealed from a geographical perspective. After briefly mentioning the historical background of transportation systems, the transportation geography of Denizli was examined with the statistical information obtained from various institutions. Attention has been drawn to the geographical factors affecting the transportation systems of railways, highways, and airlines. Despite the increasing transportation technologies, it has been understood that physical factors continue to be effective on transportation systems of Denizli. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
