Abstract

The article reports on the deployment of Memphis Police officers to work as a strike team in charged with street crimes operation and peace restoration in Memphis, Tennessee. The unit is called Scorpion which is a strategy launched by Cerelyn Davis, chief of Memphis Police and is the first African American woman to lead the department. But due to complaints from some residents claiming that the officers use heavy-handed tactics, the unit was disbanded and Davis called for a review of the units.
