The article analyzes a university extension course in Latin America that seeks to problematize access to electricity through education in science and technology. A case study methodology is used to analyze the relationship between philosophy and education in science and technology in Latin America. The reflections of Paulo Freire and Andrew Feenberg on liberating education and the democratization of technology are highlighted.
