Abstract

Objective:To examine the validity and reliability of the Work-Family Conflict Scale(WAFCS) among working parents in China.Methods:The formal investigation was attached to the "2021 China Family Health Index Survey".A total of 477 valid questionnaires were screened out.The validity of the questionnaire was tested by content validity index and confirmatory factor analysis.The Cronbach a coefficient and retest correlation coefficient were used to test the reliability of the questionnaire.Results:The WAFCS contained 2 dimensions,namely WorkFamily Conflict(WFC) and Family-Work Conflict(FWC),with 5 items in each dimension.Item analysis showed that each item of the Chinese version of WAFCS had good differentiation and homogeneity.The content validity index and average content validity index of each item assessed by experts were greater than 0.88,and the content validity of the scale was good.Validation factor analysis showed that χ~2/df=2.95,GFI=0.97,NFI=0.98,RFI=0.97,and RMSEA=0.06.The Cronbach a coefficients of the scale overall and the two dimensions of WFC and FWC were 0.93,0.90 and 0.92,respectively.Conclusion:The Chinese version of the Work-Family Conflict Scale(WAFCS) has good construct validity and reliability in evaluating the working parents in China.
