Abstract

The NIS is mainly based on the ICD codes that the clinicians selected for their patients, and it is essentially based on the clinical workups that they have done for the patients to come up with these diagnoses, such as TC and ICH. As we have mentioned in our article, specifically in the Methods section, the I International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision i (ICD-10) diagnosis codes were used to include patients with ICH and a coexisting diagnosis of TC. In your letter to the editor, it is commented that our article did not mention the basis of inclusion criteria to select the patients with takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TC). [Extracted from the article]
