Abstract

In this study, zeolitic imidazole framework-8/cellulose membrane (ZIF-8/CM) was fabricated through an in situ synthesis method. The composite was installed in a dismountable filter and used as a sorbent for lab-made microextraction in packed syringe (MEPS). The entire MEPS procedure can be performed through simple operation of filtration, since the macroporous cellulose membrane was introduced as the substrate for ZIF-8 powder. Coupled to a high performance liquid chromatography tandem ultraviolet detector (HPLC-UV), the proposed method was applied for the analysis of tetracyclines in water samples. The extraction parameters, including the adsorbent type, sample solution pH, sample volume, type and volume of the elution solvent, were systematically studied. Under optimized conditions, desirable linearity (r > 0.99 for three analytes), high sensitivity (limit of detection: 0.1373–0.8917 μg L−1), good precision (RSD < 6.3%) and ideal recovery (72.9–97.6%) were obtained. The proposed method was demonstrated to be efficient, easily operative and environmentally friendly. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
