THE FRONT LINE OF CIVIC ENGAGEMENT.

In this article importance of civic engagement in school libraries is highlighted by four organizations in their responses to questions from the American Association of School Librarians. Representatives of all four organizations discussed role of school libraries and librarians in promoting empathy, critical thinking, lifelong learning, and tools for civic action, which ultimately enables young students to participate in democracy.
