Editors' note: A vision statement for AE 's next four years.

An editorial is presented which introduces the new editorial team of American Ethnologist and reflects on the journal's history of pushing the boundaries of anthropological knowledge production through theoretical contributions and ethnography. It explore the implications of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, including the use of war crimes as a deliberate strategy, the evolving nature of humanitarian aid, the impact of hate speech, and the perspectives of refugees and displaced persons.
