Abstract

This paper discusses the biology and the distribution in Belgium of two rare Erotylidae beetle species. Dacne rufifrons (Fabricius, 1775) is associated with a range of fungi on deciduous foliage trees. Combocerus glaber (Shaller, 1783) is the only Erotylidae species that is not tied to fungi. It can be found on dry or sandy soils where it hides under stones, under dry dung, and under decomposing plant debris. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
