Abstract
- This paper presents a longitudinal study and analyzes results obtained in the first phase of the project "Gender issues in te acher education for basic education: a transdisciplinary view", submitted to the academic consortium notice for undergraduate teaching -CAEG, University of São Paulo (USP). The object of study is the deconstruction of the naturalization of the concept of gender in the education of physical education teachers, due to the constant manifestations of prejudices and the lack of information about the subject, which directly impact the daily school life. This is a field research, descriptive and exploratory, of mixed approach, with elements of qualitative and quantitative nature. The study showed that the deconstruction of the natural ization of the concept of gender is configured as a gradual process that requires efforts, actions and continuous reflections in professional preparation.
