Abstract

A direct computational approach is proposed for obtaining the voltage of the maximum power point (MPP) in mining photovoltaic (PV) system, which helps to solve the problems such as the misjudgment, the power loss, and the oscillation of system during the perturb algorithms of the maximum power point tracking (MPPT). By means of volt-ampere characteristic equation as the theoretical basis of computation, the parameters of volt-ampere characteristic curve can be calculated through the parameters of the solar panel in the standard condition. Then the present short-circuit current, open-circuit voltage and temperature can be obtained. Combined with numerical algorithm, the voltage of the current MPP is calculated. Genetic algorithm is used to solve the process parameters, and the reliability of this theory is verified by an example. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
