Abstract

This paper aims to determine the economic and social impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Peruvian regional market. To achieve this end, the research took two methodological approaches. On the one hand, the quantitative approach, oriented by a correlational design, where the questionnaire was applied as a validation instrument in a population of 51 microentrepreneurs, presenting to consider: 1. Management skills, where data on the dimensions were collected: experience in activities and services, education, and personal skills proposed by Griffin & Fleet (2015). 2. At the sales level, the data report information on the dimensions: sales situation, problems and implications of sales, as well as the need for profit based on Sant's approach (2013). On the other hand, it assumes a theoretical-philosophical approach, where the effects of globalization and capitalism on the Latin American regional market are evaluated, which, accompanied by the presence of COVID-19, have deepened social inequalities, the marginalization of sectors of the population and labor exploitation. The interconnection of these methods allows us to conclude on the need to connect the microenterprise sector with the social reality of the communities, returning to work the human conditions that hegemonic globalization has subtracted from it.
