In chemistry lessons it is crucial that learners are capable to perform experiments. During their school education students should learn how to formulate hypotheses and how to develop experiments in order to confirm them. They should pay attention to safety aspects during experimentation and be able to write a protocol including how to carry out the experiment, observations and analysis [1, 2]. The educational objective of chemistry lessons is to enable students to obtain these abilities. But do students trust their own abilities and to what degree? Are there differences between students of different types of schools, or different approaches like chemistry lessons and natural sciences?
