Abstract

Objective: To explore the therapeutic effect of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine of acupuncture combined with mirtazapine in the treatment of the sleep disorders in patients with anxiety. Methods: A total of 94 patients of anxiety with sleep disorders were randomly divided into the study group and the control group, with 47 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were treated only with mirtazapine while patients in the study group were given therapy of acupuncture combined with mirtazapine. Results: The therapeutic effect and the improvement of sleep related indicators in the study group were significantly better than the control group (P < 0.05). Moreover, the scores of Anxiety Self-Rating Scale (SAS) and Depression Self-Rating Scale (SDS) and the incidence of adverse reactions in the study group were significantly lower than the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusions: The therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with mirtazapine on the patients of anxiety with sleep disorders is ideal. The therapeutic method can promote the improvement of sleep quality of patients and reduce the occurrence of negative emotions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
