Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic taking place in 2020, 2021 has been having a strong impact on the Vietnamese economy, in which the tourism industry has been severely affected. The flight bans, travel restrictions, and the fear of tourists due to the impact of the Covid-19 have caused many hotels, restaurants, and retail chains at tourist destinations to become empty of customers, and revenue of the tourism industry declined sharply. In this situation, the tourism of Hoi An Ancient City which is a famous World Cultural Heritage destination of Vietnam also faces many difficulties and challenges. In the more than 60-year history of the tourism industry has never had to witness difficulties piled up like today. Experiencing 4 outbreaks of Covid-19, the pandemic has caused the tourism industry to freeze, but we strongly believe that "After rain comes fair weather" and "adversity brings wisdom" – During this period, we need to see this as a good opportunity to prepare and get ready for the revival and development of Hoi An Ancient City. What strategies will be appropriate and necessary for Hoi An to become a green and ideal destination after Covid? The article selects Hoi An Ancient City – a World Cultural Heritage as a case study for similar cases globally. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
