Abstract

Taking cadmium telluride thin film solar cells as the research object, we have summarized re- cent advances towards the separation process for recovering tellurium from photovoltaic waste based on different types of separation techniques, including secondary utilization method, leaching method, adsorption method, membrane separation method and electrochemical method. The effects of various tellurium separation materials and tellurium separation processes on separation efficiency are then discussed, followed by a brief summary and outlook for tellurium process of photovoltaic waste to provide theoretical gist for other emerging electronic waste recycling.
