Abstract

This study aims to provide a comprehensive review of the research status of flame retardant and smoke suppressive asphalt mixture. The related process of asphalt pyrolysis and smoke generation is dis- cussed. Secondly, the existing test methods of flame retardant and smoke suppression are summarized, and the test methods of asphalt flue gas emission are divided into mass loss method and adsorption method. The flame-retardant technology of flame-retardant asphalt pavement, flame-retardant fiber pavement, and porous flame-retardant pavement are introduced, and the characteristics of two smoke suppression methods, reducing the mixing temperature and adding smoke suppression components are analyzed. The re- search hotspot of flame retardant and smoke suppression on asphalt pavement is analyzed, and the key points and directions for subsequent research on flame retardant and smoke suppression on asphalt pavement are proposed.
