The effect of dietary safflower oil (Carthamus tinctorius. L) and inositol supplementation on biochemical profile of blood of female sentul chickens.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the biochemical profile of blood of female Sentul chicken. In this research, 81 birds of two-month-old local chicken were reared (8 weeks). Nine experimental diets were formulated to meet the nutrient requirements of local chicken. In addition to the basal control diet (T0) without safflower oil, inositol and eight experimental diets were formulated to contain safflower oil and inositol. On basis of safflower oil and inositol, at different levels, T1= 0.5% safflower oil, T2=0.5% Inositol, T3=1% safflower oil, T4=1% Inositol, T5=0.5 % safflower oil+0.5% inositol, T6 =0.5% safflower oil+1% Inositol, T7=1% safflower oil+0.5% inositol, T8=1% safflower oil+1% inositol. It was arranged based on a Completely Randomized Design of nine experimental with three replications, each replication with three birds; the measured variables were blood profile (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, albumin, glucose, and triglycerides), and feed consumption was determined every week for each group. Results regarding of feed consumption of local chicken statistical analysis recorded that supplementation safflower oil and inositol application non significantly affected (p<0.05) on the first week of feed consumption of birds under the dietary treatments and which consumed almost similar quantities of feed, while from the second week to the sixth week the application of different levels supplementation safflower oil and inositol application affected was significantly (p>0.05) to feed consumption of local chicken, while revealed that safflower oil and inositol no significant difference (p>0.05) was observed on the blood profile, using safflower oil and inositol in fed could decrease feed consumption, but still produced relatively similar blood profile.
