Abstract

The objective of this article is to show the relationship between socio-cultural factors and the state of health of hypertension subjects followed at the Regional Hospital Center of Sokodé -Togo.. Based on a prospective cross-sectional study carried out in 2021, with 84 hypertensive patients admitted to the Regional Hospital Center of Sokodé (Togo) during this period. Data were collected using a questionnaire and processed by SPSS software..The results highlight four main socio-cultural factors related to the state of health of hypertension subjects followed at the Regional Hospital Center of Sokodé (Togo): Loneliness, conflicting relationships, ignorance of hypertension risk factors and the feeling of lack of socio-economic support. Taking socio-cultural factors into account in therapeutic responses is essential to avoid decompensation in hypertension subjects at the Regional Hospital Center of Sokodé (Togo).
