Abstract

Senator Cruz provides an experienced legislator's view of what is, perhaps, the most signal legislative achievement of the Trump administration that, for evident reasons is likely to be overlooked and underappreciated in the light of President Trump failing to win reelection, namely the 2018 First Step Act. The appointment of Justice Amy Coney Barrett, theoretically has altered the mathematics of Senator Cruz's thesis but we have yet to see how this brilliant, very interesting new Justice will vote on some of the more contentious issues that are sure to come before the Court in the Biden/Harris reign. Had The Donald secured his hoped for second term as U. S. President it is most likely that Ted Cruz would have been appointed Justice of the U. S. Supreme Court, an opportunity he declined during the 45th President's first term. [Extracted from the article]
