Abstract
- The article examines the life and achievements of the late British novelist Martin Amis. It describes his views on the importance of generations, as reflected by the characters of his novels, including "The Rachel Papers" and "Inside Story." It discusses Amis's criticism of the works of the peers of his novelist father, Kingsley. It also explores his autobiographical last novel, "Inside Story," which raises the idea that the poet Philip Larkin may have been his actual father.
