Abstract
- The editorial article highlights the contribution of Juan Marchena Fernández to Latin American and Caribbean historiography. Marchena, who was trained as a physicist but dedicated himself to history, was a teacher to several historians and stood out for his prolific intellectual production. Additionally, he is remembered for his conversations in cities like Cartagena, where he immersed himself in Caribbean history through files from the General Archive of the Indies. His work is highly valued and serves as a reference for the new generations of historians in the Caribbean and Latin America. The journal Historia Caribe invites submissions of research papers for consideration. [Extracted from the article]
