Abstract

In February 2020, Hall became executive director of the American Library Association (ALA), making history as the first African American woman to hold that position in the esteemed organization's history going back more than a century. She also attended the University of Washington, where she completed her master's degree in library and information science (MLIS) in 2000 and was a recipient of the American Library Association (ALA) Spectrum Scholarship.
