Abstract
- The article explores the story of the experimental bomber, the Douglas XB-42 Mixmaster, and its derivative, the jet-powered XB-43 Jetmaster, both of which were innovative but ultimately faced challenges and did not meet expectations. Topics include the unique design of the XB-42, its propeller system, defensive armament, and the transition to the XB-43, which was one of the early jet-powered bomber projects.
