Globalization is a phenomenon that has significant effects in many areas such as socio-economic, political, cultural etc. of the last century. With globalization, consumption habits may also change. As a matter of fact, it can be stated that the effects of globalization on food security are also a subject that needs to be addressed and examined. From this point of view, the aim of this paper is to investigate the effect of globalization and economic growth on food security for MIST countries between 1970 and 2019. Food production index was taken as a food safety indicator. In empirical analysis, CADF unit root test, Durbin-Hausman cointegration test, and AMF coefficient estimator were used. As a result of the analysis, a cointegration relationship was found between globalization, economic growth and food security in MIST countries. Furthermore, while economic growth has a positive and statistically significant effect on food security, globalization has a statistically significant but negative effect on food security.
