Abstract
- This paper presents the design of the coil power supply system which provides a pulsed current of ±16 kA for several coils within the DIII-D Tokamak. The coil power supply system consists of 6 power supply modules and a master module controller. Each power supply module would be designed to produce ±450 VDC and ±2.66 kA (nominal) in all 4 quadrants, and 12 times carrier phase shifting PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) technology was adopted to satisfy the fast response and low ripple content of the power supply system. Meanwhile, the mathematical model of the power supply system was established to analyze the dynamic relationship between the system input and output variables, the transfer function was optimized by compensation circuit to increase the stability of the system. At last, the simulation and theoretical analysis had been completed to verify the stability and fast response of the coil power supply system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
