Abstract

Chitosan particle has been famously known to its drug delivery ability due to its unique property, such as high biocompatibility and biodegradability. Its delivery of the various drug has been proven to improve or enhance the activity of the pharmaceutical drug. To further enhance the loading ability of the chitosan particle, a β-cyclodextrin containing a hydrophobic inner and an outer hydrophilic surface has been used. It is known to enhance the aqueous solubility of the various agents after the insertion of the agents into the hydrophobic inner of the β-cyclodextrin. This enhanced aqueous solubility can ease the ability of the hydrophobic drug to be loaded into the chitosan particle. Therefore, a chitosan composite loaded with β-cyclodextrin/tetrahydrocurcumin inclusive complex was proposed in this research.
